Omega is wonderfully organized and okay, I'll say it. He's picky. He likes good food, good wine, good booze and good beer. Fish is always from the ocean and never farmed, and it's purchased a fish market, not the grocers and definitely NEVER previously frozen. Meats and chicken are purchased at butcher shop, again not the grocers. Coffee, is never from a can, it comes in a small brown bag, costs around 15 bucks a pound, and is stamped on the bottom with the roast date and time. And I won't even go near the subjects of wine, booze or beer.
Now, I was a never a coffee in a can kinda girl. I do like my Peets coffee and considered it a guilty pleasure. But I didn't always grind my own beans and had an electric coffee maker complete with timer. I liked that, waking up in the morning with smell of fresh coffee filling the house. It was nice.
Then O moved in and everything changed. I cried when he said I wouldn't be needing my coffee maker anymore. He presented me with a French Press. I looked at it and asked where the cord was. He laughed and explained it didn't need one. You heat the water in the kettle, and and pour it over freshly cracked beans, give it a stir, wait a few minutes and push down on the plunger. Fresh coffee. So, I tried his caveman method and was shocked at how good the coffee tasted. Seriously excellent. So, I adapted, started the coffee before it was time to wake him so it would be ready when he gets out of shower in the mornings.
He takes a sip of coffee and give me a kiss. Making coffee isn't so bad. Neither is waiting for good coffee.
So I'm thankful for coffee. Thankful for the French Press. Thankful to Omega for introducing me to it all.
My Master enjoys the French press method on occasions as well. It is amazing the differences between brewed and French press. Slower is better? smiles xx
ReplyDeleteAdd one level of "pickiness" on your own by only using filtered water?
