Omega has been going through a very difficult patch, and if you follow a slaves tale regularly, you are probably already clued into the reason for it. It's probably normal for everyone to go through selfish periods, but mouse would argue that he has never been unconcerned with mouse's mental health. He is fully aware when he's being selfish and mouse is aware of the reasons (most of the time) for his behavior.
