Happy New Year!!

Greetings from mouse,

We had a fantastic New Years Eve and day. After spending the day deconstructing Christmas we went to a party. It was at a friend's house and so much fun. Daddy planted a big kiss on mouse at midnight. We stayed very late and slept in even later. Breakfast at noon and snuggling in front of the TV while Daddy watched football.

A surprise phone call just before Christmas, from mouse's boss threw things for a loop. Guess there's just not enough work for a while. So the contract won't be signed. Daddy was wonderful about it all, saying mouse is needed more at home anyway.

It's kinda sad, tho boss did reassure mouse that once the economy improves she will be called. Or if something big needs her attention. Still it left mouse with a big feeling of uncertainty.

Daddy's been wonderful about the change and even mentioned that it might be time to return focus on her real career. But the hours might be too long, and believe it or not mouse enjoys taking care of everyone here.

Yet, it makes her kinda sad still for the first time since she was 15, she'll have no real job and no paycheck. Daddy keeps telling her not to worry about it. He said to think of it as furthering her submission and moving into a more traditional role.

Daddy is quick to remind mouse that she didn't work very much last year. It was really only around 8 months worth of actual work. It's a new year and a new beginning, and he seems really happy to have mouse at home.

In some ways so is mouse. In many ways it's very exciting. Maybe it just means that mouse needs to adjust.

  2. I stay at home....haven't had a job since we got married. I don't understand the "loss" that some women feel when they longer get to work...but I do understand wishing I had a pay check and didn't have to totally rely on Z. But then, relying 100% on him for all of my needs makes me feel even more his....
