Flute player, play your flute...

greetings from mouse,

This post probably should have been written earlier this week, but better late than never.  It does tie in nicely with our weekend plans.  Over the past weekend, we attended a charity function.  Now honestly, Omega was less than thrilled about attending it, but mouse would have dragged him there.  It was a chance to get all dressed up, have hair, nails and toes done and talk to grown-ups.  Of course, Omega wasn't thrilled about going.  His complaints started earlier in the week.  In the end he put on his finest.  Then he had mouse bend over and plugged both her holes.  Cautioning her not to drop her egg or shoot the plug.  Lovely thought, huh?  Luckily, her diaphragm is collecting dust in box somewhere, or it might make an interesting event in the sex Olympics.

So, we arrive at the event, mouse is super excited and O gets her a cocktail at the bar.  He returns, mouse thanks him.  Then she hears from across the room....

"Hey!!! Mousy!! Youuuu hooooo, mousy!!"

Omega and mouse turn around and see this clearly homosexual man jumping up and down waiving wildly.  We'll just call him Jack. Just Jack.

Omega let's out a rare but audible, "Good lord. What's HE doing here?"

"Who's he with?" mouse truly wanted to know.

Jack is mouse's most colorful friend.  We've known each other for years and claims to have coined the phrase fag-hag.  We air kiss when we meet, he always asks mouse who she's wearing.  Thankfully that night mouse was able to reply Vera Wang, with so not kidding Dolce and Gabbana shoes, so old they're now retro.  He approved of mouse's choices but, made comment that shoes need updating, we'll get together with Lucy and have a spa day.

His latest flame is someone we know, although remotely.  We'll call him Will (since we're on a Will and Grace thing), and is firmly in the closet, or at least he was until Jack entered his life.

If no one puts Baby in a corner, no one puts Jack in a closet.  Soon Will was almost thoroughly out.

Will likes sports, golf, drinks good beer, loves his scotch, jazz music, hates the theater, he dresses nicely...in fact with the exception of being gay, reminds mouse of O.  We worked together a few times, and like most closeted homosexuals he does give off a faint gay vibe that's really unmistakable at least to mouse, but straight men really miss.

Jack sings badly to Lady Gaga, Madonna and who ever else, has amazingly wild fashion sense and complains about having cramps.  Once, we met for lunch and Lucy remarked to watch out because mouse was cranky.  Jack looked at mouse sympathetically, and asked if she was having her period (loudly).  Then when she said yes, he proclaimed just as loud, "me too!!"

Now O really doesn't tolerate Jack very well, but really few people can.  Will seems happy with him tho, except when the topic of family came up.  Jack's parents knew Jack was gay as a small child, when he preferred playing with his sister's Barbies and cried when the lightbulb in the easy bake oven burned out -- his parents really adopt everyone in their lives and mouse was no exception.  From what mouse could gather Will's parents are a bit different.  Either they don't know he's gay, or they don't approve.

O remains very cool around any friend Jack has, mostly for one reason, they never last long and since he finds Jack horribly annoying... O has said Jack doesn't need a boyfriend, but a patron.  It might be in Will, Jack found both.  They do seem happy.

We circled the room a few times, pausing and reconnecting with friends and colleagues, until O grew weary, so he got mouse's bag and coat and we left.  In the car mouse's phone rang, Jack was calling because mouse left without saying goodbye...

And he invited himself and Will over for Saint Patricks Day.

He said he'll dress up as a leprechaun.  Now, won't that be interesting?  And yes, the egg and plug remained safely inserted.  Omega teased mouse often without mercy on and off most of the evening.  While we didn't dance, we did have fun.

Song selection: Turn the Beat Around; Peter JACKSON JR., Gerald JACKSON; performed by Vicky Sue Robinson.

Oh, how great the song selection is for this post. I would have enjoyed to watch Omega's expression with Jack close by. I am glad you two got an evening out. That can really change your overall outlook when we are tired from a new baby. (Yes, I consider the babcy new for at least the first year).

Im not sure if im meant to but im laughing, your very descriptive that the reader can picture it in their heads and its just struck me really funny the whole scenario.

Second what dancing says good to get a night out, to dress up etc, i do enjoy it myself when it happens which is not often enough.

best wishes
tori x

I love this! It sounds like a fabulous evening out.

Bill also can get a bit twisted about getting gussied up for functions. Once there he has a great time and can make small talk with a fencepost, which is good since that is about the IQ level of some of the local political types. Give me Jack any day of the week over a politician in fundraising mode. lol

Enjoy your gathering and give Jack an air kiss for me.

Hugs,
Donna

The whole thing was funny tori!! It's rare for us too. O doesn't really like formal things like that...lol. He always finds something to complain about...if its political, he worries about mouse...lmao.

O is the same, he's very engaging. He knows how to work the room...his main concern is mouse...lol. But that night, Jack took all pressure off...lol

Dear aisha,

It was fun at first, O would tease mouse with the remote controlled egg...but after a while, it really started to get kinda painful. Of course, mouse didn't complain...but when we finally got home...really...couldn't wait to get everything off and out!

Hugs,
mouse
