I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow...

Greetings from mouse,

We had a gay old time this weekend.  Just Jack telephoned mouse on Thursday asking what time they should arrive.  So, mouse suggested, knowing he's always more than fashionably late 3PM.  Of course, Will wasn't figured into that equation.  They arrived a little earlier...but it was all good.  Other people started to arrive around that time as well.  The atmosphere was relaxed, Jamison and Guinness flowed freely.  The menu featured mouse's corned beef brisket (the family recipe so secret, it's kept locked).  Irish soda bread and green velvet cake (haha).  Jz left a terribly funny comment on mouse's post on Friday that amused O so much...teasing mouse...see before everyone arrived...O decided that mouse should make use of the vibrating egg!!  As he slid it inside, without the plug thankfully, he cautioned her not to lay an egg...

Now, while mouse isn't very prone to blushing...it's rare for mouse to get that flustered, yet when he said that a strong feeling of humiliation fell over her, showing brightly...which really provided Omega with countless opportunities of shear joy to without mercy tease mouse throughout the day.  These were not limited to simply making the egg sing inside her, but also with whispered cautions not to drop it that mouse's eyes fly open wildly.

The dinner went on for hours, everyone laughing and talking until late.

Sunday morning began early, Omega allowed mouse to sleep in a little and cooked breakfast.  Breakfast is always a little chaotic and challenging, but somehow he managed fairly well.  He even kept a plate warm for mouse.  After breakfast, we went and ran few errands ending back at the new house.  We looked around and decided maybe we should paint some of the wood in the dining room.  Seriously, mouse could have cried.  Of course that was kinda lost on him.

As the afternoon gave way to the evening, Omega made himself a Rueben...guess that's what you do with left-over corned beef.  We also had soup, mouse had made a couple weeks ago and froze.  Clean-up was super easy.

Later we settled on the sofa, mouse eagerly sat at Omega's feet.  We reflected on the week behind us.  He remarked on a comment, wondering if mouse does feel resentment over the lack of pain.  Honestly, it's a mixed bag of emotions, but mouse would follow him anywhere and Sir sets the tone for that thing we do. He worries often that when mouse says ahe'd follow him anywhere that he may one day lead her off a cliff (figuratively).  We continued our discussion a little longer, with him probing to make sure mouse truly was ok.  Soon it was time to put the baby to bed, so Daddy kissed his baby-girl goodnight and mouse put her down.  We still had one more thing tho to discuss.

Some of mouse's friends have discussed starting a book club.  We discussed it, and we decided to read 50 Shades of Grey.  No, really!  Everyone is excited to read it.  Now, mouse is curious about the book.  Of course Omega was clueless, so mouse clued him in.  He put his foot down, while he didn't mind mouse reading it, he certainly didn't want mouse discussing her views on BDSM to a group of "bored, under-sexed vanilla" women!  He seemed rather adamant so, mouse decided to let the matter drop.

We ended the evening by watching the movie "The Help."

  1. Everywhere you look there are stories about "50 Shades of Grey" . . .

It all depends on perspective, but I think that "bored, under-sexed vanilla" women are very much the book's target audience. 50 Shades is far more accessible to that crowd than the Story of O or the Beauty trilogy would be.

While the individual writing the book seems to understand "New Guard" BDSM fairly well, it's truly more a romance with BDSM undertones than it is a BDSM romance.

At least that's my personal perspective after 20 or so chapters . . .

I'm not finding it quite as engaging as is Serafina, in fact I just picked up "Deviations: A Gayle Rubin Reader" to ponder on the side as I also read Techniques of "Pleasure: BDSM and the Circuits of Sexuality" by Margot Weiss in addition to Shades of Grey.

    1. Sir,

Just mouse's opinion but the story of O, is way way way more BDSM than this book could possibly be!

It's more a kinky sex book than having anything to do with the lifestyle.

  2. LOL I started 50 shades this morning...tee hee...but I think O is right...as kinksters we are going to read much more into it than the vanilla crew.

    1. It's funny how this "mainstream" book is acceptable. People were openly discussing it over dinner on Saturday too! Probably because it's been featured on the news..

      Weird.

  3. I think you will thoroughly enjoy the 50 Shades of Grey series. I also agree with your Master that discussing it with Vanilla people is not wise. There are a good number of submissives in this BDSM community that are willing to share, and plenty of diversity as well.

Just like in real life- vanilla or not we have to filter who we attend to. Our Masters are there to help in whatever form we need them. . We are so very blessed!

    1. serefina!! You're so right. We have a great little community here! And ya we can freely share our views!

Tho, she must admit, mouse's take on the first book isn't so great. Parts were...but some are just redundant.

  4. Oh that book is certainly doing the rounds of blogger lol, i think im the only one so far that i have come accross that just didnt see it in a poisitive light ie as being positive towards bdsm and D/s.

I think it would be hilarious to discuss the book among the vanilla types however it could open a can of worms and inadvertantly cause offence....these are people you know and do you want to hear potential negative comments about things that are important to you and the way you live? i wouldnt myself...sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Sounds like you had a good weekend, oh i am partial to Guiness myself especially in coffee and it makes a good ale in steak and ale pie...yummy.

    best wishes

    1. tori,

(small spoiler about the second book)

Tho mouse, thanks to hurting her knee...will probably finish the first book today. So will certainly have more views. One friend did mention in the second book the dom slowly unravels in a most unhealthy way.

OH mouse loves and adores cooking with beer. Chocolate and Guinness were made to go together! Seriously! Made a chocolate bread pudding and added some Guinness to it...it was yummo....

Even made Stout Ice cream once too...

    2. I dont suppose you could provide a recipe for that bread pudding it sounds scrumptious, i have never attempted ice cream making, i should give it a go in fact this weekend i think.

    3. Just regular bread pudding recipe, add cocoa powder couple tablespoons at least. What mouse did was reduce the beer in a saucepan, adding it to the liquid ingredients.

Some dried cherries would rock too.

If you need a more detailed recipe, mouse could dig one up.

  6. This damn book is everywhere. LOL! I think there is a very dark contrast in views of the book between those of us in the lifestyle (so to speak) and those that are not. I know some people don't like how the book portrays some of the characters, but really...have you done a google search on BDSM? Can the book give it a worse view than that?!?! I just find the interesting part that mainstream has latched onto this so much. :)

    1. While the story is ok. Can't say it's super well- written. Will start book two tomorrow. Really don't understand how mainstream media latched onto it. There is talk about a slave/sub contract that goes into some detail...but the main character so far refused to sign it.

Hoping for more bdsm in book two...but not really holding breath for it.

  8. I have to write a book review soon for my academic writing. What fun to review 'Shades of Gray'. Is it very engaging? Could I get it read in less than a week?

  9. Vesta,

It's a page turner...it took mouse about three days to read it all (tho yesterday she did the most, because she couldn't do much else around here ;-)

So ya...mouse thinks that you can certainly read it in a week. Lucy burned through her kindle copy in a day.

    Hugs,
    mouse
