What a Long Strange Trip Its Been

If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more. -- Jane Austen

For several years now, mouse has thought of this place as our kitchen table. You are our guests, and mouse imagines that we chat often over coffee where she shares some of her deep successes and failures. The highs and lows of life as a consenual slave are freely expressed. There have been posts that mouse has giggled while writing and has shed more than a few tears while writing others.

We have a baby who is fast on the verge of graduating from babyhood to toddlerhood and we're happy -- Oh so very happy! We have a busy life now -- so much more so than before. Lately it's been hard to write, not only there isn't enough time to properly clean the house or some days shower.

The thing is we're also communicating better than ever, there's nothing that she doesn't go in here, he now hasn't heard about first. Maybe the writing's been on the wall since we shifted from the five day a week format to the current one of three posts a week. We really don't know. The underlying point is our communication is so much better our walls are down and we speak honestly. But what's even better than that mouse feels safe to talk to him about anything.

We're not really saying goodbye. The blog will remain as it is now. It might be added to on occasion, but the need to blog just isn't there. Just think of it as we're drawing the curtain on our lives. We thank every one of our readers for companioning us on this incredible journey. Please rest assured, from time to time we might open the curtains a crack, especially if we feel we have something to say. Who knows maybe a week will go by and mouse will realize she misses blogging and return full of fresh ideas.

We welcome comments on this post, plus any previous ones.

I get this and I support it. Also, you ARE about to enter one of the most exhausting periods of parenting ever, so it is wise to bulk up.

Hopefully it will help you to know that blogging not only helped you, but it helped many other people as well.

See you soon!

Sometimes it IS so hard to find the time to write - so I totally understand.

If nothing else, look at the amazing archive and the connections you have generated over the years. Job well done, I say.

It's been quite the journey! I wish you the best of luck, and hope to hear from you from time to time! <3

This breaks my heart to hear. :( Earlier this year I started reading your blog from the very beginning and now look forward to all your current posts. Admittedly, I will miss getting my mouse and Omega fix. But it sounds like you're stepping away from your blog for all the right reasons and your relationship is continuing to progress beautifully. I wish you (and your little ones) well and hope you won't be too much of a stranger! :)

Ahhhh, mouse, they're all being so unsselfish and understanding, am i the only one who wants to stamp my feet and say "Nooooooooo, don't leave....puh-leeeeeeze?"

i know i'm not, they're just too nice to say it. And i admire that, and am going to get to that place of acceptance myself.

It's been such an honor to get to share your journey ~ i can't possibly thank you and Omega enough. i've learned so much, been touched in so many ways...

Stay in touch a little bit, ok?

much love,

aisha

Hello,
I'am both sad and happy at this post. Sad at thought that I won't be able to read about your lives anymore. It has been a joy to find out about the both of you and your journey. It was great of you to share such intimate moments of your lives with us and those moments have all been a pleasure to read and they will be much missed. But, I'm happy for you because this post marks how far the two of you have came and how strong your relationship is at the moment. That outweighs the sadness of you not blogging anymore :)
I wish you both, kiddo and babygirl all the best for the future and ask that maybe we see the odd post from you just to keep us updated on the tale of mouse and omega :)

mouse,
I can't help but hope to see you here next week. Failing that, I hope to see you around blogland--your comments are always thoughtful and lovely.

This is one of the first blogs I started reading, and has remained among my favorites over the years.
I'll be waiting for that occasional peek through the curtains!

Dear mouse- thank you for a peek into a beautiful life, a brave and insightful soul, and for giving me hope that things can be better and a dream to strive for. Jeez, that sounds like a lot! LOL But I have appreciated your blog, your writing, very much and wish you all the best with your life to come! And thank you Omega for allowing her to blog and for your insight as well. Wishing you and your family much continued happiness.

Inasmuch as the blogging has been about the life you are living, the writing has been a gift and a sharing. But, it has always been the life and the living of it that were, rightfully, the priority. As your life grows more full and more fulfilling, this place will, of course, change too. That is a good thing. I will miss your voice, but I'll know that you are out there, and I will always wish you the very best,

hugs, swan

Mouse and Omega,
Thank you for sharing a genuine example of being truly Master/slave as well as truly husband/wife. And thank you for the nudges about wrong thinking and for examples of broader perspectives. I am so thrilled for you both for your joy.
