Good morning,
There have been nearly 500 posts to this blog since it started a couple years ago! Seriously mouse is humbled by the way this blog has been received, the friends she's made along the way, sharing the laughter and tears during this journey.
And the world didn't end on Saturday! In fact Saturday was a pretty good considering. Wednesday Daddy is checking into the hospital for surgery on his knee, yes we've been down that road before. He'll be gone through the holiday weekend...which sucks, but it should be all healed up by the time we go away on vacation later on during the summer.
At least that's the plan.
Anyway on Saturday we braved the gas prices and took a nice drive out by the river. We had contemplated a picnic but the weather was unpredictable. Instead we opted for a wonderful lunch with brilliant river view. Daddy kept mouse plugged and contented during that trip.
Back at home we had a serious sit-down about the family budget, with mouse presenting why an increase in spending is needed. Daddy, ever the Conservative wasn't impressed with the whole idea of increasing spending on anything and treated mouse as though she was asking for unlimited spending across the board or considering we take out a loan...From China.
In the end he kinda accepted the budget request but said no more ATM card for purchases. They must be made in cash only. He will give her the money at the beginning of the month and she needs to make it last for all the household purchases, and her personal extras.
The good news in all that is that if there is extra money left over (as there is on occasion) that can be added to the next month...
After that mouse set about thanking Daddy for his generosity and he seemed quite content, pleased and downright joyous...The pleasures didn't end there...just began...
Oddly, with tomorrow's post being 500 (seriously didn't plan this) mouse is starting a new idea...You'll read all about tomorrow.

Glad to know how generous Omega is! I get my allowance weekly and would hate the monthly plan. I did hat when I was teaching and never liked the last week! Good lick!
Your budgeting meeting sounds more interesting than the government's budget meetings! I think yours ends more amicably too...

I don't envy you... hehehe *ducks and runs* It was generous of him though to increase the budget. Certainly not something to complain about.
