I'm Thankful

I went into work very early this morning for a meeting, I explained what was going with A to my boss.  He was sympathetic.  He's allowing me to keep working on smaller projects from home for an indefinite period of time (I really hope the economy picks up).  My pay will be based on time spent working.

It broke my heart to do this but it's what I needed to do at this time.

I'm thankful to have this option.  I dunno what else to do.

  1. My mouse,
We have discussed this extensively, and you are truly following your heart regarding this issue. I commend and fully support your choice, as you are doing what is in the best interest of A.

Years ago, you vowed to always advocate for A, and you have done nothing less than that. His needs always were paramount in your mind.

Time will tell if our efforts are beneficial; I know they are not in vain. We, as parents, can only do so much and part must come from him; we know he has this buried deep inside him. While he does not comprehend the severity, A certainly understands that something is not right in his world. It is stressful for him, but we must remain vigilant. We must, somehow, continue to speak for him when he cannot speak for himself.

  2. Mouse: Congrats on making sacrifices to help improve A's life. Now regardless of what happens, you can look back and say you did your best. And it says a lot about you -- and Omega -- that you're willing to take this step for A. This is the definition of true love.

  3. I know how difficult this decision would have been for you and I know you wouldn't have made it without a lot of thought and consideration. A is so lucky to have you for a mom. In the end, he will be better for having two parents who love him and are willing to do what it takes to make his life better.

i admire you, and respect Omega as well. This is a tough situation all the way around, without any easy answers. Your boss seems understanding, and that is a very good thing, especially in this time as you hinted at.

i wish you two the best, and offer help and support and encouragement if nothing else, should you choose to homeschool i've been homeschooling for 16 years or so, although not an autistic child of course.
