Balking

When you are under the control of another it's not always polite to balk.   Yet, I have moments where I do just that.  I balk against things.  Oddly enough most often they aren't things that I would find horrible to do.  Yesterday, for example, I had a hair appointment.  I sent a text basically echoing what I had put on Twitter, I really wasn't feeling like going.  He fired back a text that simply read, "you will go."  I did and it was ok.  I fell asleep under the dryer.  The point was that he knew better.

Sometimes for whatever reason I'm relieved when he just says, "you will." do something.  It takes the pressure off deciding if I want to do something or not.  Something that's for me and O makes sure I do things for myself.  Like my brunch plans on Saturday.  Getting my hair colored wasn't exactly in that realm but it was something just for me and that's been problem lately.  O of course identified it, and is dealing with it.

He knows me. He cares for me.  I dunno, it's kinda nice especially when I'm not used to having anyone fuss over whether I get my hair done or not.

In that way it's kinda nice.

  1. I can't imagine how easy that must make things sometimes, you don't have to make that decision to do it or not. And since he has only your best interests in mind, you know he'll choose the right one while you may or may not have.

  2. mouse,

I was going to comment but it appears Gray has encapsulated precisely what I was going to write. I shall continue to do what I believe is best for you.

  4. THIS is what a true D/s relationship is about for me. No, not the hair or the brunch, but having faith and trust that O has your best interests at heart over even the little things. Kinda makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

    Hugs!!

  5. Aw, exactly what I was thinking, SBG! :)

And now I get it why Daddy keeps getting mad at me when he finds me doing my own eyebrows.

  6. Believe it or not, this made me think of my ex. I never really understood why I hated making decisions and had such issues with it. My ex... omg... he was more indecisive than most women I know. I hated it when I'd go to him asking for advice on what I should do about something and his answer would be "do what you want".

Well HELLOOOOO.... I don't know what I want, which is why I'm asking you, duh! It bothered me that he used to tell people he knew me better than I knew myself, yet he couldn't help me make any decisions whether they had something to do with me, him, us or whatever. Everything was left to me... that way if something went wrong he could just blame me.

I'm so glad that Asha isn't like that. It's nice to have someone who is willing to make decisions for you so you don't have to do it for yourself, especially when you are unsure of what you need at that moment. Someone who really cares about your well being and will take the time to really examine what it is you need and make sure you get it.

  7. Gray,

I know he always makes sure that I'm cared for in one way or another. I was tired that day and would have just cancelled the appointment. Didn't feel like spending the money...LOL

  10. SBG,

Yup...you are right on! He totally has my best interest over big and little things. And tho I can't tell him what to do, I have his best interest at heart as well. When I cook a healthy meal it's because I know he likes to eat heathy. Sure sometimes I'd LOVE to skip it and make something oh so fattening but that's what it is...I put his needs first.

  11. little butterfly...

Ya, I know what you mean. O gets upset when he sees me doing that kind of stuff. If I said I wanted to paint my toes, he'd be like go have a pedicure.

  12. Spirited one,

O does have a sixth sense at times when it comes to my needs and it's nice. He's very observant and sometimes sees things before I do.

Our biggest problem is at times weekends where we go through the "what do you want to do?" but that's normally because there's nothing to do..LOL Obviously play will happen...but I'm talking about other stuff...I can't spend the whole weekend locked in the basement, or could i?
