My landscape would be empty...

Greetings from mouse,

Well this morning mouse did something silly -- while the knee issue is still hanging on, mouse decided since Omega returns today, she'd try to sit on the floor.

It's not that he requires mouse to sit at his feet -- he never has really.  The simple truth is she wants and desires to be at his feet.  Well, it didn't work out so well, getting down and up was beyond awkward.  And it hurt a good deal too.  Ugh.

Of course, he phoned while mouse was lumbering to her feet with audible groans, forcing a confession about what she was up to.  He rebuked mouse harshly for attempting that.  It was too soon, her knee muscles are still tense from the fall and he had the audacity to remind mouse that she's not as young as she used to be.  GAH!

Really..now did he NEED to say that?

Not wanting to start an argument or discussion, mouse agreed it was silly to do but as she said that she was biting hard to hold back the tears. Those tears fell after hanging up, tho, even now she can't for the life of her explain why...Except that she'd love to be younger with him.   Maybe to turn back the clock.

For years mouse has mused that he could really read her mind, if he cared to.  A text came through soon after hanging up...

"No tears.  I love you."  And he sent a link to the song by Dean Martin, You Belong To Me.   The reply was musical,  Have I told you Lately that I love you, by Van Morrison .  He replied,  Fly Me to the Moon...Sinatra (of course).  Clearly the man is all over the Vegas Rat Pack thing...

This continued for a while...mouse can only assume that the crap table wasn't exciting or he was waiting for breakfast...there was a mental image mouse whipped up in her mind, seeing O with his blackberry in hand maybe sitting at a machine that he'll refuse to play,  just looking at his phone and smiling.

The final song he sent,  remarking that it was his heart...And again mouse cried...

Time in Bottle
If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day 'til eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then
Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go through time with

If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go through time with

Really?! Jim Croce????  Did he have to go there...right to mouse's heart?  Can mouse just say that she can't wait for him to get home?  Sometimes music can express what we don't or can't say out loud.

Song selection: Looks like Rain; John Perry Barlow

  8. Hi there.. so happy for you both! Rough times will come up. We need breaks sometimes, as it helps us appreciate the together times and can help put things in perspective. You two have many moving parts to consider and RL has a way of whomping us on the head, even if we are doing doing it to ourselves.
Just.. hang in there. You have a good foundation even if the wind may rock the rafters a bit, the storms pass.
    Warmly,
    Mystress

It seems to be the consensus. It's one of those songs that mouse forgot completely about until she heard it...then the river flowed...mascara ran...

  10. It's wasted on the young you know . . . youth . . . hahahaha

Serafina also wishes she were younger . . . that she could have given her younger and more able self to me. The thought makes me laugh, as her younger self would have run screaming away from me at top speed.

None of us are getting any younger mouse, and that is ok, in fact it's a damn good thing if you ask me! Growing old is something to prize, not something to dread or be ashamed of being . . .

While I can understand the attraction to youth, I've got to say that there is no substitute for experience. Sure I could screw an 18 year old who was looking for a Daddy, but in addition to the likely disappointment I'd feel at her relative lack of lovemaking skills, I'd also be totally bereft of anything to discuss when inevitably the sex was finished for a time . . .

Sure I wish I didn't have arthritis, and that a variety of old injuries didn't leave me limping away from bed every morning, but I'd not trade my experiences and skill for any measure of youth . . .

    1. Sir,

many times mouse has said those exact words uttered the exact same way...

Yet you're right we do have experience...but wouldn't be nice to have both at the same time?

What mouse wishes for is more time with him. That's all -- more time.

      Hugs,
      mouse

and I know it's been a tough year
    but I admire you both
and how solid you both are together

I wonder if you know how many of us
    envy
    you both

      Awwwwwww...It's been a rocky time...but also we're good...very good and together...

Not sure if we're worthy of that envy tho...

Really...truthfully sometimes love isn't always enough...
