What's Going On

Staring mindlessly at the flashing cursor wondering what to say. It's like mocking....But there's nothing going on. Unless you count daily spankings, cleaning (always cleaning), laundry (always laundry), cooking...

You get the idea. Daddy's been busy working. Children busy growing up and waiting for summer to begin. Weekends, Daddy has been setting aside time for family (he's even sacrificed his morning oral once to go play an early round of golf -- he said it was about priorities). He's actually turned off his cell phone.
This post is obviously not ready for prime time.
**********
Late last night after watching the intense thriller Argo, Daddy and mouse climbed into bed. We spoke a little about the film -- the era and what we recall about those tumultuous times. The conversation shifted, as is prone to happen and Daddy asked why mouse hasn't blogged.

Well, that's not completely true. First mouse remarked that she doesn't know what to blog about -- when he asked, she replied, there's been little going on that's really "blog worthy."

"Your readership will worry mouse. Plus you still have comments to reply to. Perhaps you will find inspiration there."

(sighing wearily mouse only nods -- considering )

"You could write about the other night." Daddy offered.

"Yea..it was ok."

"Ok?"

"Oh ya...it was fine," mouse answered in a cherry tone.

"Fine?"

"It was good. The time before that was a little better tho."

(He sighs -- pulls mouse closer) "So write about that."

"Meh...Its been done." mouse replied sounding bored.

"Oh God. You are going to write about this conversation aren't you?"

"Maybe..." mouse replied slowly as she mentally wrote it up.

"Perhaps then later this week, I will assign you a writing topic to discuss?"

"Would you?"

"Of course. Close your eyes mouse and sleep."

  1. mouse,
you may think there is nothing to write about, but there are some who need to see that a D/s relationship is not always what is depicted in fictional novels. Life is life; we all have the same things to get done each week and the days could be considered boring. I lose track of how many times I'm asked 'so what's new?', and my answer is usually 'same stuff, different days.'

That is what reality is. It is who each of us are. I think too many people feel like they need to live in a soap opera. But it's the seemingly monotonous days, the conversations like you wrote about that strengthens the bonds of our relationships a little more. We find security in structure; comfort in repetition; love in the little things.

Thank you for an honest look at life.

  2. I totally love this whole post of 'nothing'. I'm very VERY new to blogging *12 posts so far, and I just figured out how to see comments. I don't get a lot of computer time...I blog from my iPhone when I'm kidless and don't have a chore or something going on. Thank you for letting us into your lives. You make me want to be a better Wife. Have a Blessed day. Jacy

    1. Wow and thanks so much Jacy.

Blogging from your phone must be tedious. The iPad is hard enough. :)

  3. A topic! What a great idea! I love when I have a topic...

Yes, blogging is great, but there are times when it is a hungry little beast and you WANT to do it, but really, you can't. Then later it all comes back. Hang in there.

  4. Well it is difficult sometimes, well maybe not difficult but perhaps just not 'feeling it' and it gets pushed aside, i often argue with myself that my life really isnt that interesting to warrant posting every day (reality is its not kink 24/7) coz really who wants to read about dealing with a stroppy teen and a daughter that is going through so many fads at the moment (latest is becoming a vegetarian) and then i have to remind myself (or be reminded) that its simply about me getting my thoughts out..interesting or not!..its my little corner of the world.

A topic is a good idea.....ooh i wander what it will be

    1. Really...it's easier when they were very small...than when they "grow up" Everyone assumes its the opposite -- but the baby sleeps like a rock. Since she can't read, don't need to hide the computer screen and let's face it...the spicy image of that half nude guy will never be remembered.

      The teen...oh no...

  5. Thanks mouse for giving us an update. Sometimes I cannot write my posts fast enough because of lots of activity and sometimes I have to be really creative to find a topic.

I am looking forward to your topic.

There is a huge ebb and flow. If mouse said she was thinking of giving up blogging, within a week, she'd be posting again daily!

The ideas would just be gushing...

Obviously this is what ebb is like. :)

  6. your life seems to be going much the same way as my life...busy at home with the same thing everyday with busy husbands. I'm having a hard time not feeling bored..or blah. I love our home and find joy in raising these kids and taking care of Z's "kingdom" lol but it makes me also not know what to write about. A topic WOULD be helpful!!

  7. I'm just glad to hear from you. I really understand that feeling that there is really nothing to say, and I do understand that sometimes it feels like everything I might say has BEEN said -- over and over and over. Knowing that I miss you when you are long absent is a good reminder to me -- some people just want to hear how it is going.

    1. It's a great point sue. We tend to forget that we are interconnected and we do feel the absence.

Even the dull stuff...it's just a reminder that we're still here!

I think journalling at times can be lack lustre. I know I have not written in my journal, the public one, since February. Granted I did not have the same impact as you do, people really do turn to you and read you regularly as you post consistently. Still I have not wanted to share with the world. I have not wanted to share much at all. At times because it has been far too personal, too intimate. Throughout the past three months I have felt that I really had nothing to share, nothing of significance as well as not wanting to share some things because I did not want to invite the world to see into my life, into my heart, my own feelings of insecurity and not so perfect world and sometimes oh so perfect world.

I am certain there are always topics to discuss; however, every now and then you may just not want to write about them. Perhaps you feel you have already shared it or are just not in the mood. I understand. I completely understand.

I do appreciate when you do write, when you open your world and heart for us to read. With that said I relate to when you do not wish to. Balance.

    Sending you much warmth.

    1. ~c,
You're completely right. There are times that feel too intimate to share...there's also a lotta nothing much going on and it makes mouse feel apathetic toward blogging...

      It'll change...and bounce back...

Thanks tho for all your comments and thanks for reading!

  12. i miss being given a topic, (however a small part of me is glad as i did get some real random ones in the past.) As for not knowing what to write, I just like reading posts you do as they all make me smile and not feel alone. We do not have a thriving BDSM community where i live .
Mouse you are a good author and it is good we are allowed to share .
