Lurkers

Today begins the Love Our Lurkers (LOL) event, where we actively encourage lurkers who read our blogs and journals to actually comment. It's a wonderful thing. It also is peppered with a bit of sadness for mouse. We learned earlier this week that David passed away. His blog was called A View from the Top. While mouse didn't really know him personally she did know a good deal about by proxy. We traveled in the same blog circles, but rarely interacted save for an occasional comment. Although mouse always felt his style of D/s was probably close to Omega's -- it didn't feel right for her to reach out to him and tell him that.

What mouse really knew of him was through a dear, wonderful friend. They loved each other deeply, and through his style of dominance he helped our friend grow in ways she couldn't begin to imagine. David's death has left a huge hole in her that cannot be easily filled. This led mouse to some pretty profound regret that she never reached out to him personally and thanked him for all he's done for her friend.

What this has to do with LOL, is for mouse to encourage people to not lurk, but sit down, share a cup of kindness, and comment. Not only over the next few days the event lasts but beyond that. It's never about quantity, you don't need to comment on each post, but let us know once in a while that you are there. Don't let the moments pass by, because they do pass so quickly.

I'm a lurker lol. I read each post and many other blogs. As a new sub I have learned so much and find comfort in reading and learning. My condolences regarding David. His 'view' was also helpful.

mouse and Omega,

I have been reading your blog for well over a year now, but have never commented. I just want to say to the both of you that the amount of gratitude I have for the existence of your blog on an open platform like this is insurmountable. As a young woman, I have experienced abuse at the hands of people who I trusted, assault from someone who I thought loved me, and tortured myself thinking I deserved it all. It is through reading over your blog (mouse in particular) that encouraged me to seek help and love myself again. I was able to find someone who takes my personal care seriously and who I can have a healthy D/s relationship with. I never would have known this was possible without your blog, and for that I would bake you all the thank you internet-cupcakes you could handle, and more.

I'm always excitedly waiting for your next update. I'm sure I've commented here before. Been reading for years now. Oddly enough, you, Lil, and master's piece are so part of my daily checklist of who to make time for in a day to read that I forget y'all aren't aware of that.

I want you to know how much I enjoy reading your thoughts, musings and ramblings. It's one of the brighter spots of my day, especially since there is a decided lack of D/s going on in my own life right now.

So I will work on commenting more, but please know that your words are a warmth and comfort to me. :)

thank you mouse for letting me know. I always wonder what happens when some bloggers just stop writing and/or disappear altogher. makes me worry.
I know I'm not a lurker, but I'd thought id tell you and Omega anyway, when I started reading your blog years ago(all the way thru thankfully before you started editing) you made me look at life differently...better, gave me hope...inspired me. if I haven't reminded you lately, thank you...from the bottom of my heart.

I am new here mouse. Thank you so very much for your comment. It means a great deal to hear from other bloggers. LOL day has sparked something new in me I think!

Your post brings up one of my absolute biggest fears. The loss of my Man is something I just don't know that I could survive. Strength and love to all his family and friends.

I think your blog, mouse, is the one I feel most like a lurker. But I do read every post. :D

Hello mouse,
I lurk on your blog constantly. I can't remember how I found it, but when I did I enjoyed it. Being new to TTWD I was impressed with how you portrayed the lifestyle. It let me understand that it is drastically different from the "fairy tales", it is real life, and helped me to see that we aren't alone. Thank you for everything you share!
