Where mouse learned something special

When I wrote yesterday's Thankful Thursday post I had no idea how heavily this would hit home later that day.

I was out running the my usual errands, I paused for a coffee, when I came upon a mother and her little girl.  The girl was school age, probably second grade.  She wore a pretty dress she was obviously proud of.  She was holding it up on the sides and twirling.  I watched her as I sipped my coffee.  As my eyes traveled upward, I noticed the girl had issues with her one arm, and further up as I looked into her beautiful eyes I noticed she had stubbly hair on her head, no eyebrows.  She spoke to me happily, and I told her I really liked her dress (I did).  As she turned her head to talk to her mother I noticed a trace of a crescent shaped scar on her head.  I overheard her asking her mom what day of the week tomorrow was.  Her mom said to her from plainly, 'well, today you had chemo, so what's tomorrow?"   The girl giggled and said, "not chemo!"

I turned my attention to my phone and coffee, looking over my lists and behind my sunglasses watched them leave, hand in hand.

I am thankful.  So very thankful for everything I have.

No matter how badly I may sometimes think life is...in that instant I was reminded that it really could be so much worse.

That little girl with the sunny smile taught me something incredible yesterday.  I know this isn't lifestyle related, but I just had to share it.

I dunno this little girl touched me so incredibly that when I got home, I made a donation to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Thanks so much for this heartfelt post.

It only takes a second to donate and a lifetime to reap the benefits.

Enjoy your weekend.

hey mouse, I had a similar experience on my trip. Every once in a while I see how someone else lives a much harder life then I do, and they do it with a smile and a happy attitude. It's very inspiring!
