Private thoughts

Under the bed there is a small notebook, well several, where mouse jots down thoughts, makes bad doodles (seriously, mouse has no drawing skill whatsoever) and other random stuffs.   Daddy knows about them but has never asked to read them.  Last night everything changed, Daddy asked to see them while mouse did her meditations and bath.

Really?  How was mouse supposed to concentrate on a stupid card while he's sitting on the bed going through her most intimate of thoughts?  Ok, the really intimate thoughts go into this blog, but other thoughts...did he need to see those?  The doodles are just horrible...hearts surrounding Daddy's name.  Really?

It was embarrassing to know he was seeing all that...What could be worse?  After she finished truly gong through the motions he said nothing really about it.  No discussion, nothing pithy or sarcastic...nada...zip.

Somehow mouse really needed him to make a comment, snide or other wise...to let her know it was ok...or that he didn't care...

This morning mouse picked up the books and put them back under the bed, then she retrieved the most current one and opened to the first open page....

The page on the opposite side had all the hearts surrounding Daddy's name....and waaaay down on the bottom...

He drew a mouse.

With a heart.

Guess it was ok after all.

  1. Oh mouse, that is so right, and very much like something my Bill would do.

You have a great guy there.

  6. Oh that was sooooo sweet! What a lucky mouse you are!

Your Daddy warmed your heart, and by sharing it, you warmed the hearts of others.

I just love when stuff like this happens!
