When I started therapy, Omega would send me emails asking how I was doing, most of those I didn't keep, as they were the general comments. However occasionally he'd send me something with an insightful observation, and I those I would save.
Yesterday I was going through my outbox at work (emails there are being transferred Friday) and forwarding items of importance to my personal email. Important memos, and yes some emails from Omega were forwarded back to me (anything sensitive which are work related are sent through a different system, and cannot be forwarded outside the system).
One of those emails he sent right after I began therapy and I guess I had threatened to quit because I believed it wasn't working. He was encouraging, wanting me to stick with it he sent me a link to a song (It's a song how could I forget him sending me a song?). Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel. Now I had listened to this song hundreds of times, maybe more over the years, but never thought about it either way. It was a fairly common rotation on FM radio, even today but more so in the 70's and 80's.
I found myself in tears, listening to it with fresh ears in the context of the note, and over the last part of the song that goes:
Sail on silvergirl,Omega has always been behind me in one way or another that day and most days since. For that I am grateful.
Sail on by.
Your time has come to shine.
All your dreams are on their way.
See how they shine.
If you need a friend
Im sailing right behind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.

I tend to save a lot of things too, esp on the computer. I try so hard to stay organized. I'm much better at home, Good will loves me this year. ;)
Omega sounds like a good man. No one is perfect but he is standing right behind you. All you have to do it lean back.
my lady, you amaze and delight me.
You're going to clean out all those horrible drawers, even the ones that will not open or close thoroughly?
Yes, yes the other things you wrote are nice too. However, the drawers, did I read that right?
Omega
i collect things like crazy, because i never know when those things will provide comfort or a memory. i have a poor memory, due to medical issues so i collect things to help push my mind to remember over and over so i dont lose that memory.
i love lyrics... my whole family is music oriented, some professionally but we all write music. i find music and poetry help soothe and heal the mind and emotions.
Gray,
Goodwill will love me too by the time the month is over! So will my tax accountant.
Omega,
Yes you read that right. Drawers will be cleaned out. Now I really have to do it, don't I?
Kitten,
I have a box that has every note that Omega has ever given me. Along with other little treasures.
About music, I can sing fairly well, but can't write music or really read it. I did play guitar in high school but nothing more than a few Beatles songs. LOL
Thanks for reading,
renea
my lady,
Yes, you do, starting the first of July. Tell me, how is the packing of your office going?
::chuckles::
Omega
Nice post. It's neat that Omega comments.
Good luck with the drawers.

I too keep all the letters and cards that h gives me and that I give her, beyond that I am not really a pack rat.
A few years ago to make our 20th Valentines day together special I got out every valentines day card and I love you card I had ever given her and set them out on the dinning room table with a dozen a roses.
Sin,
Yeah well, he got excited when he read about me cleaning out drawers.

Sir J,
Rather than cause Omega to spit coffee or whatever against the computer screen by saying I'm not much of a pack rat either, I will say that instead of throwing things away the way I should in the first place. Often they tend to get tossed into a drawer when company comes. With the idea that I will get to it later. Which I don't.

R,
At the risk of causing the spitting coffee it seems to me the solution to your problem is simply bigger drawers.
J.
