After the Turkey

And, decorating and shopping....Not much else to do but shop more well and get the tree.  Master had me do the holiday schedule and that was a lot of fun.  We decided what we wanted to do, and all I had to do was figure out when.  Sounds easy?  It is.

This is the only time of the year I really enjoy living here.  There is so much to do during the holiday season, outside of the mall, and this is the first year I might get to do everything.  But we also have a bunch of parties to attend, so Omega handled that for the most part.  He's not a party guy, so he routinely wants to reject everything.   However with him leaving his job and starting a new one in January, our firm wants to do something special for him. They were going to try to make a surprise but ya like that was going to work, he figured out those plans right away.  That was one party though, I wouldn't let him reject (though he did seriously think about it).

Meanwhile I started doing a little work with his replacement before the holiday and that will probably work out fine.  Master, of course said not to worry about the new guy.

My morning and evening rituals are working out great, but Master is giving me a real bedtime now which, he he naturally expects me to follow, but my problem is that sometimes I just lay in bed.  He has given me permission to read a little before bed, like he usually does to relax. I just hate reading in bed.  But I did find a few magazines to thumb through--I'm horrible, I tend to subscribe to magazines that I never read, now he's making me read them or they will be cancelled.  I can't argue with that.

Spirited wrote something recently in her blog about being careful what you wish for and I gotta say I agree with that.  Anytime I've thought of bringing up something to Master the outcome was not exactly as I had envisioned it.  His semi-micromanaging continues because simply put, it works.  I can do as I wish as long as my work and chores are completed first.  Asking permission though for little things is wearing thin, but once I've shown that I can manage myself without correction, I'm sure that will improve.

All and all everything was great and Thanksgiving was a rocking start to the holiday season!

Thanks so much for the all the warm thoughts for my friend Lucy.

Sounds like you're gonna have a busy month. Thank goodness ours is going to be just a little bit more laid back and relaxed this year. We traveled for Christmas last year and it was a disaster. I just want to veg out this year.

I always imagined if I had a lot of rules, it would make me crazy, but to be honest I was going crazy without them. It's hard getting used to asking permission for things I'm not used to asking permission for, but it's not as bad as I imagined. I'm just glad for a bit of structure at this point.

I don't have a bedtime yet, thank goodness, but I imagine if I keep giving Master a hard time about getting up in the morning that will end up changing. I just hate mornings.

Hope you guys have fun at that party! :-D
