This is something that has always kinda intrigued mouse and it's made its rounds in our blogworld before. Since mouse hasn't much to offer the blog world lately and would rather like to return -- she's decided to try this...
Now, this isn't going to something that will done is 30 days -- since mouse doesn't post that often anymore! But it might provide a bit of inspiration.
Who knows...But we're starting this on February 1st...we'll just have to see how long it takes.
We'll kick this off with Day 1 and we'll see how it goes...
1) Does your submission - either what you practice or what you strive for - have a label? Do you view your submission as Taken in Hand, domestic discipline, top/bottom, dominant/submissive, master/slave, owner/pet, or some other description or combination? If you do not use a label, why?

We often shun labels but if mouse needed to narrow it down it would be Master/slave. It most clearly defines who we are in our dynamic. This also means that Taken in Hand, domestic discipline, owner /pet are incorporated nicely into our dynamic. Daddy owns mouse in every sense of the word -- good or bad. When he calls her slave, her pulse quickens. it's an internal reaction few would understand.
But maybe it should be said or lightly mentioned mouse doesn't call herself slave -- it's written about here for clarity but it's a label that was given to her (right or wrongly) years ago. Last year, Daddy renewed the term but that might be a topic for another time.
~~~~~~~~~
Daddy made a few changes to the submissive reading list -- editing out the defunct blogs or ones that haven't been updated in more than a few months or were just completely closed down. Vesta has a new blog that was added.
Also....
Goodbye Formspring. It really was good while it lasted but since it seems they no longer allow anonymous questions (instead now you must sign up) coupled with the added bother of character limits...just not worthy of the blog space.
You can still find mouse on twitter "talesofmouse"
I would love to try 30 days of "something" here, but I am thinking more alone the lines of say, 30 minutes of submission because I am having great trouble just doing that these days.
I guess I'll take it one thing at a time.
Defining exactly what we are doing proves to be most exhausting, but maybe February will bring us new light on what path we are following.
I do however admire your strength in submission - and of course enjoy reading your blog (and tweets!)
Even if you can't post 30 whole days, maybe just small summaries of each one, once a week or so would work.
I look forward to reading.
Thanks for your really lovely thoughts Emi. Thinking of doing M/W/F for the 30 days of submission posts and then on Tuesday/Thursday can be a random post about nothing...lol or something related to the blog world -- which mouse has been absent from.
Hugs,
mouse
I know labels are not popular because i presume no-one likes to be 'put in a box' but i think they can be helpful in narrowing down ones interests or types of dynamic, ttwd is all well and good but its just so broad.
But then the other argument is that people have different views on what an individual label means anyway, so really is there a set definition!
I would like to hear your thoughts about being called a slave should you choose to share them. Personally in the beginning i romanticised what i thought it meant or rather how i thought it should be and later realising that perhaps i have been naive.
..im not as comfortable with it as i was and i cant put my finger on why.
But anyway im just happy to see you back blogging.
Have a great weekend.
Sorry im back! i had a little thought after i hit publish.
I wander if the reason i do struggle with the term slave is because i did over romantacise it, i had this imagery of what it should be like and as our relationship has progressed the reality didnt and hasnt matched up to my fantasy.
Ok i think i shall go ponder about this in my own blog..sorry.
tori,
Yes, exactly when it comes to labels...Master/slave is actually a fairly broad term since it does encompass taken in hand, et al. TTWD...mouse has always rather reserved that for just what we do...as opposed to what other's might or might not do...But yes, it's pretty broad.
The story is kinda lengthy....So maybe one day mouse will write about that (it also requires mouse to go back in time and dig up a few posts (always a rather arduous task).
Hugs,
mouse
You could be right tori. That's kinda why mouse wrote about who defines submission. Many have these ideas of how the dom or sub should be...and often the reality is much different. You have to work within the skill-set you have and not worry so much about what other's do.
But until you understand that idea -- it can leave you to question so much and even question if the lifestyle isn't just all fantasy or right for you at all...
Don 't be sorry...ponder...YES! Because ya'know mouse will read it...
Hugs,
mouse
I love the "30 days" approach, especially if it means more frequent blog posts.
Yay! for more mouse posts! :-D
Agree agree i love reading your blog! :)
Yay!! So glad you're back!!
How interesting, that you don't call yourself "slave." Would love to hear the story behind renewal someday.
And thanks for alerting us to Vesta's new blog.
But mostly Welcome Back!
hugs,
aisha
